How often should dryer vents be cleaned?

Once a year for most households, more often if you do frequent laundry, have a long vent run, or notice clothes taking longer than usual to dry.

How do I know if my vent is blocked?

Common signs are clothes that take more than one cycle to dry, a dryer or laundry room that feels hot, a burning smell, or an outside vent flap that barely opens. If it's been more than a year since your dryer vent was cleaned, it's time.

Does this include the lint trap in the dryer itself?

Yes. We clean the lint screen housing and the full vent run, from the back of the dryer to where it exits the house. Clearing the whole path is what lowers the fire risk and brings drying times back down.

How long does the service take?
